For some people, lots of unnecessary visual information may make it more difficult to locate or recognise certain objects (e.g. picking out a glass among lots of tableware on a busy patterned table).
For such individuals, ‘decluttering’ may be helpful – while being cautious to avoid inadvertently removing existing ‘visual cues’. See also Colour contrast strategy.
