What is PCA?

Posterior cortical atrophy is a condition characterised by initial, predominant and progressive changes in vision and spatial awareness.

Posterior cortical atrophy means ‘back of the brain shrinkage’, essentially referring to neurodegenerative disease particularly affecting the back of the brain.

Things to bear in mind when using this resource

Not everyone’s experience of posterior cortical atrophy is the same. People differ in their symptoms, the timing of symptoms their living situation and personal preferences.
